    Vegas May 2017

I will start off this little trip report in case anybody wonders. Between my adult daughter and her friends and my mother in law and nieces Georgia is totally 100% with somebody when we do our little trips and 110% spoiled. We would never travel around without her being taken care of by a family member.

So we go to Vegas in December the last couple of years because it's somebodies birthday that chooses to self fund his present. My wife always gives me the gears that we never get to go when it's hot. The Spring being so miserable and wet I decided to pull the trigger and do a May trip. We have points on a WestJet card to fly cheap and playing the MyVegas game on our phones we got two free nights at the Mirage and free show tickets. We had to pay to stay at Treasure Island for two nights and resort fees at the Mirage only.

Treasure Island has a deal on their website. $79 and no resort fees. The hotel is old but it was clean and the rooms were nice and had a fridge. It attracts older people that have been going there for years and younger people looking for a cheap place to stay. Not your high end clientele so we fit right in.

We upgraded for a view as we have never had a strip view before, It worked out.

We did a pool day. It was just over 90 this day which was perfect. The pool is small but cozy. I think it can get rowdy with young drunks in the summer but it was pretty well behaved when we were there. They have a DJ booth beside the pool that wasn't used. Thankfully.

We left there and went for lunch out on the strip and stopped at The Yard House. They have 300 beers on Tap.

At night we went to the Mirage for the Buffet and just walked around The Strip being tourists.

    The Bellagio Conservatory is gorgeous.

We went to The Park where the arena for The Vegas Knights hockey team.

The next day we checked into the Mirage and they gave us a room at 11:00 with no early check in fee so it was a bonus. We spent the day at the pool. It was 95+ and by late afternoon it was too hot for us Canadians. We had to pack it on a little early. It's a big pool and pretty calm. Big mix of people young and old.

At night we went and saw Big Elvis at Harrahs. The man is amazing. He sounds like Elvis and knows everything about Elvis. He is really large.
Older crowd there for sure. After that we went to Fremont St to watch the freaks and have dinner etc. We played an old horse racing game with little metal horses for .25 a race. It was alot of fun. Nothing crazy to report.

The next day we rented chairs at a private pool at the Mirage as a treat. Small pool. No kids. Private service. We are glad we did. A girl threw up in the main pool and they closed it for 2 hours.

We saw Beatles Love that night. A Cirque Show. They played all Beatles music. Had two large video screens with Beatles film footage, outtakes and some of their movie clips. The show was amazing and maybe the best I have seen yet. It was a throw back 60's acrobat kind of show. No pictures were allowed at all so I have nothing to show.

It was a fairly uneventful trip as we pretty much sat around the pool all day.

As always my wife says we have gone to Vegas too much and this week I caught her looking at The Vegas Knights hockey schedule and she has picked out a game in December to go to.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Sure sounds like you had a fun trip.

Of all the places around world I've been, the only time in Vegas was in the 50's. Nothing like it is today. A few other places I'd rather go to first but it is on the list.

Sounds like a fun trip. I always enjoy the food and shows when we go. My favorite Cirque so far is O, but I haven't seen the Beatles one. It's on my list.

You guys seem to have so much fun on your trips. I couldn't spend my whole day inside a casino, especially if I'd been there before. Even if there was other stuff to see in the surrounding area, if it was 95 degrees outside I'd be out by the pool also. I've never been to Las Vegas but in my mind, the magic really seems to happen at night when the lights are on and the shows are in progress. Big Elvis- oh my! Thanks for giving us the tour!

Looks like fun! I have actually never been to Vegas before, even though I live in California. I've been to Reno and South Lake Tahoe, but not Vegas.

We have been going since 2014 and already I see changes in the town. They appear to be catering to the 20 somethings with trust funds rather than the gamblers. The money is in idiots that are willing to pay $300 for bottle service and hang out a clubs. They also seem to be catering to conventions as there is probably money in that as well. We like the people watching and sites and will probably continue to go once a year.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I appreciate it. Putting together a picture trip report takes some work.
    Thanks Everyone!!
