    Good job, Zooey!

Oh my goodness! Zo is our anxiety dog and fireworks are going off down the street but she's doing just fine! That was a long haul.

My two were always fine with thunderstorms and fireworks up until two (three?) years ago when the fireworks were just nuts.

Now they need calming collars and sometimes a stint in the basement doggy apartment to keep from getting all nervous. This holiday, that meant five nights in the basement...they started around here Friday night. Last night was the worst. The police used to respond to people reporting illegal fireworks displays in the neighborhoods but they don't anymore. (A friend called about it those two/three years ago was told that there were too many complaints to respond to so they weren't responding to any...and they obviously haven't changed that mindset in the years since. I hope they'd think differently if we were in a serious drought at least.)

    Good job Zo!

Been lucky here as all of our dogs have not had a problem with loud noises or fireworks. Sat the other evening on the couch, Archie beside, and some doofus lit off a very loud firecracker. I jumped, Archie did not.
