I would probably follow up one more time early next week and then move on to looking for a different opportunity. I wish the search was going better for you! It can be so frustrating.
Found you on instagram!

It's ridiculous now. Really.
I will follow up once more. Maybe he went on vac and didn't set an autoreply....or maybe I should call?
Where I work, it can take weeks to get an interview and get hired, after that HR takes forever to get your paperwork done and get you started.
I would be more patient, and stay in it for the long haul. People are super busy in their jobs, and have a lot of other things happening, and they may be too busy to hire someone, how is that for ironic? Don't worry about following up, wait a few weeks, then ask if they need more information or references, or maybe you could do a certification of some type in the field, and then let them know... Good luck these things take time.

ok so if I wait..and then follow up-what do I say?
I guess the search is not going well because I keep going for mortgage related positions and I haven't worked in mortgages for about 9 years. ugh.
If they gave you an estimate when they would get back to you, I would use that as an opening and asking if they have an updated date for a decision or what the next step would be. Then reiterate, very concisely, why you feel you would be a good fit, add value to their team/company, etc.
