Died in the saddle so to speak. Bless his heart.

An accidental rooster is a male chick that is included in an original pullet (female) order either because it was incorrectly sexed or because it was shipped as a "packing peanut". A packing peanut is an unwanted male chick that is included to keep the rest of the chicks warm. In JT's case, I think that they threw him in as a packing peanut because we ordered 12 pullets and we got 13 chicks. I suspect they started to put in packing peanuts then went, oh wait, this order isn't supposed to have packing peanuts so stop throwing them in there. Hence, our 20 lb rooster who we couldn't bring ourselves to kill.
