    Our rooster died.

RIP John Thomas. You were an unintended addition to a pullet order years ago and, frankly, something of a nuisance, but a fairly sweet bird and certainly a beautiful one. I'm sorry that the young hen was so attractive that you couldn't stay away from her and your heart gave out when you gave it a go. The sad thing is that she barely noticed you but I suspect you died happy.

Crow free, JT. Crow free. Whenever you want.

Awww.....I'm sorry you lost your rooster....I hate it when you lose one of your menagerie.

I hope you had one last fling, John Thomas. I'm sure your wake-up calls will be missed.

Aw, sorry for your loss. We have a rooster that was an unintended member of an 8 pullet flock. He loves his ladies and sure seems happy with his job, I hope he lives a fulfilling life like JT.

So sorry for you loss. John Thomas sounds like a true rooster, crowing in one way or another. Way back when I had chickens, it was the roosters who made me laugh the most, were the most entertaining.

I'm sorry to hear that. He must have been pretty entertaining, although I don't know that i'd miss all of his crowing...

He was actually a feature on my husband's conference calls. We were going to put him in a video. This morning people asked why they couldn't hear him and my husband had to tell them all that he was dead. Kind of a bummer.
