My husband kind of freaked out when I told him what was going on. He may never go near the coops again.

Yeah....the words "earwig" and "infestation" are not two that should show up in the same sentence. Ever.

It was really sudden. I was surprised. But again, that woodpile. Most of it is half rotten. I am planning to move it to the field to create some hugelkulturs. My small scale experiment last year worked out really well so now I'm going large scale and dumping all of my wood, leaf scraps, old straw and hay and grass clippings down there. This should be good. Until then, I guess I have to deal with earwigs.

Google "earwig trap". Here's one of the sites that came up: Earwig trap

Only two today and they were at the other end of the coop. Flicked them at my birds that were free ranging at the time and they ate them right up.

Thanks. I hadn't seen the version with molasses. I have expired corn syrup in the cupboard so will use that if the opportunity comes up.

We have them coming in the front of the house either through our large picture window or front door or both. I put some of that ant powder down but not sure if it's working. I was looking for some local DE but can't really find any.

I might have to put a trap down in the flower bed at the front of the house.
    Thanks Everyone!!
