SunDance, y'all should get some relief tomorrow.

Woody, how did the round go?

Berna, our humidity does the same. We had a short dry spell but had a little rain over the weekend.

TuMicks, I didn't realize fleas and ticks have a hard time at altitude.

Tanya, I do not miss Texas heat and humidity at all! Days like that sap my energy.
    ----------------------
We had a bit more rain last night. Today was cloudy, breezy, and 'cool' - 21C or about 70F. The temperature will climb through the week and there's a chance of thunderstorms Thursday.

I live in West Virginia and for the most part it has been miserable hot here this summer. The humidity is horrible! I keep the house set at 72.

Melly, welcome to the board! We should get some relief Saturday with lower humidity and highs in the 70s. Y'all might see it Saturday or Sunday.

105 degrees and probably a record for Reno. Supposed to last through the week. Are we going out training in it? Of course we are. Obviously we're doing water work with the dogs, but we're not in the water. So pretty tough conditions.

That's pretty hot. What's the humidity like? And isn't Reno at a few thousand feet elevation?

Reno and surrounding areas are give or take 5000 ft. above sea level. I live at 5500 and overlook the city. (Pretty cool at night!) Virginia City sits above us at 6100 feet. Lake Tahoe is over 6200 feet above sea level.

Our humidity is almost nothing. So when you sweat, it does evaporate and helps. But, when you're standing in that sun handling your dog... and it's 105 degrees... that is small comfort. Really saps you.

This summer is crazy hot so far. It's been a week of 38-40 C highs, and it will last until next weekend.

This morning I've read about a breeder's dog in Croatia that died of heat stroke (Bernese Mountain Dog).

Yesterday morning I had to wake up at 4:30 am to go running because it gets incredibly hot at even 6 am.

Cookie spends a lot of time in his fountain, and even for that (1 kilometer) we have to go by car because of the heat.

The heat broke here, yesterday. Never got over 18C and in between dark skies, thunder and rain it was lovely. Only 11C when we got up this morning. Would be nice if this would last.
