Road signs that don't mean anything.

I was driving down the interstate yesterday and got to thinking about these road signs that either don't mean anything or are completely pointless. What do these mean?

"Squeeze Left" - How exactly does that happen? I'm in a car. Do I squeeze the car? I can't squeeze the car. What does that mean?

"Low Flying Aircraft" - I'm driving 65 mph. If I'm confronted with low flying aircraft, what am I supposed to do? Is this for informational purposes and if so, why?

"Falling Rocks" - Again, what am I supposed to do about this? Do I drive looking up? Do I really need to know that something may randomly fall on my car and crush it and me? I don't think so. That should just be a big surprise as far as I'm concerned.

"Thickly Settled" - Every time I see this sign I think that Pilgrims who aren't particularly bright live in this area. Bring it into the 21st century people. Call it Densely Populated. Stop making it sound like a clam chowder that's been sitting on a stove for the last 24 hours took up residence here. And again, what is the point of this sign?

    And what happened here?

They took down the sign with the picture of a moose. Do we just not have moose anymore? Did the one moose get clocked by a semi? I demand to know what that was about in the first place.

Rt 146 took down the "Welcome to Rhode Island" when it took down the bridge. Now I don't know when I have crossed over into Rhode Island. Was there a war I didn't know about? Are we no longer welcome?

What comes up in your area?

Maryland's new motto should obviously be "The Boring Road Sign State".

We have the "Falling Rocks" signs. I agree, what good is it. You are 'suppose' to keep your eyes on the road and cars in front of you, not looking up to watch this big rock falling-let's see, if I can determine its speed and weight, I might be able to go faster or slower to avoid it, while driving like I should be. JUST DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!

"DEER CROSSING" signs. Always in the wrong place-I guess the deer have a difficult time reading it because they cross about 400 feet before the sign-dumb deer.

On one of he interstate systems there are signs stating "trucks entering and leaving". Isn't that what happens on an interstate?

"Slow children" could use a bit of punctuation. Can't you get them to speed up or does it have to do with their intellect?

Some tourists were complaining about our Ontario signs one day and I never noticed how unhelpful they are because I know where I'm going here. So when I'm on a 400 series hwy and the sign says the exit for Orangeville is coming up I know if I should take the exit that goes east or the one that goes west. But the sign doesn't say whether Orangeville is east or west.

When I was a kid, we would drive to my grandparents' house and I never wanted to go because of the Falling Rock signs. I was convinced we were risking our lives and didn't think it was worth it.

    Have you heard this one?

    'Narrow Subway'

Huh? Say what? Subway for only skinny people? Or a very narrow subway tunnel? No it used to be a sign advising of a 1 lane underpass beneath a railroad track. How I wish I'd photographed it.

    So enjoying this.

Bill always reaches over and grabs my head when the sign Stop Ahead is posted.

We have so much road construction around here and trying to follow the curly-Q signs to navigate the detours is a recipe for disaster. Orange barrels set in a weave pole configuration only to end up going the wrong way.

Then there are the signs what let you know that road construction begins on a certain date and expect delays when it turns out the construction is on a small side road that only the one resident who lives on has to worry about.
