Adjusting to new things in my life very well

I am adjusting to new things in life very well.My family and friends say I am still have a positive attitude not letting anything hold me back.It was in March,I did get a spinal stroke getting the devastating news from the doctors.Doctors told me I would not walk ever again, paralyzed from the waist down. When I had the spinal stroke falling to the floor,my oldest son found me on the floor and he called 911 right away.Calm all the way until the ambulance came.It took time getting used to getting around in the wheelchair I get around in with.Staff and students are amazed I get around well doing my job very well.A high school principal and did have feelings missing the days I walked around.Driving,I use hand controls now and learned quickly.I learn things right away being taught.Worst part was my ex husband leaving me,turned into a jerk hearing I would never walk again.Ended up divorcing and glad I did,he was also verbally abusive to me not taking it anymore.Started dating a new guy,Chester and he loves me the way I am.Has no issues with my paralysis at all and sees me as a normal person.Plus he treats me right.Looking good now.

I look at life this way, keep a positive attitude and don't let things hold me back.I still do things I did before this happened. One is hunting. My dad and 2 brothers built me a hunting shack with easy access to get my wheelchair in on our property where we hunt at.My 3 kids see me as a great mom still.Next step is giving back, plan on speaking to kids with disabilities
