    "Sumac Hues"

    Aye Mates,
This image o' Staghorn Sumac caught me eyes with regard to the arrangement, texture, and colors of it's fall leaves. I titled the piece "Sumac Hues". I hope ye find it enjoyable as did I.

    Cheers,
    Irishwhistler 🍀

I always enjoy your pictures...you have a great eye for spotting the beauty (and quirkiness) that others might overlook. This is beautiful.

Thanks kindly Mate. Funny how we often think of how much we teach our children. Me oldest daughter grew up hiking with us from the time I could carry her in a backpack style child carrier. Once she was able to hike under her own power she would constantly point out shapes in rocks, leaves, and other forms found in the natural world. She was identified in school at a very early age as being gifted and talented in art. Her Mom and I enrolled her in private art instruction at the age of five and she ran with it blowing through every AP art course available at her secondary school. She applied to three art and design schools in NYC and was accepted to all three and she graduated from Parsons with a BFA in Product Design. She is also an incredible fine artist. She now works for a superb design firm in NYC. Me little girl taught me to look beyond and to develop me own observational skills and apply them to me own artwork. She inspires me continuously.

    Cheers,

Your daughter had a fine teacher. Her eyes would never would have seen all of nature's incredible beauty with a little help along the way from you. Sounds like she has found the job that nourishes her soul.
