    Best foot soaks.

Had a scaly toe situation going on. I was scrubbing them with a boar bristle brush and soap and that held it at bay for a few months but then they started to burn. After that I immediately thought it was athlete's foot but I've never had it before and that was weird because I've been wearing sandals all summer. Just assumed even though my feet weren't red. So I treated it with Lotrimin. Bad plan. I treated them for three days. My feet burned so bad I couldn't sleep.

I looked up other possibilities online and saw one that had Listerine, vinegar and warm water soaking feet for 20 minutes. Finally! Complete relief!

I'm thinking this may be a chronic skin situation.

    What's your best foot soak?

I've never had any skin issues with my feet but I use plain Epsom salts for occasional achiness. (I have neuromas...or capsulitis, whichever....self-diagnosis...and I've had inflammation/pain issues with that. I use Topricin lotion daily to keep that at bay.)

Good luck getting your tootsies happy.

1 cup each Cool Mint Listerine (apparently the Cool Mint part is important) and vinegar and enough warm water to cover completely.

It lasted about 16 hours. Not perfect but that Lotrimin really did a number on my feet. I must be allergic.

I use Bushmills (copious amount), Listerine (I tbsp.), apple cider vinegar (4 tbsp.), warm water (two gallons). Mix the Listerine, vinegar and water thoroughly and soak feet whilst sipping the Bushmills o'er ice, and forget about ye tired hooves. 😉

Correct me if I am wrong but don't you get Eczema? I was thinking you do.

You can get it on your feet. Feet and hands usually go together. I get it there, it looks a lot like athletes foot but it isn't. The apple cider vinegar is a great natural helper with eczema. However if it persists you might want to get a steroid cream from the doc.

I tried it with apple cider vinegar and red wine last night. That worked very well.

Good memory! I only get it though when my skin is exposed to cleaning chemicals, perfumes, laundry detergents that aren't "free and clear" and it manifests itself in a very different way than this. It's usually really violent. I've never actually treated it with meds before. I figured out pretty quickly what was causing it initially so if it crops up, it's generally easy to identify what my exposure was. I just don't see the cause here.

Good to know about the apple cider vinegar though. My physical is in a couple of weeks so I'll ask her to check it out.
