October photo shoot - scary looking!

Standing under our scary, almost leafless redbud tree. Faye is in a favourite old barn coat; I'm wearing my Houston Astros cap anticipating tonights' World Series Game 6 and (I hope) Houston wrapping it up.

I have waited over 50 years for this. Saw the Colt '45s play outdoors in Houston. Jim Wynn, Don Wilson, Joe Morgan, Rusty Staub.

We shall see what we shall see!

LOL, I think the last one was more scary. Is that a different Redbud than the one you planted in the park? It's a good sized tree.

That one is in our backyard. Planted it about 10 years ago. It was about two feet high when it was planted. It’s spectacular in the spring.

    Fran, thank you!

Snowshoe, this tree is lovely in the spring. In Austin TX there are thousands along the Town Lake hike and bike trail; in a good spring it's an almost overwhelmingly beautiful sight.

Oh look at your tree. We bought a Forest Pansy Redbud a couple years ago after the flood, we had to take a couple trees out and wanted to replace them. Our little tree isn't as big or as pretty as yours, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. The past two years we have had an late frost after it started to bloom this year we only had three little leaves the whole spring/summer so raking wont be an issue.
