Is that a Turkey Vulture? I love watching them swoop and soar above our house. Not the prettiest bird up close, but oh so beautiful in the air. Kendal use to run around the yard barking at them when he saw them.

    Mr. Kleb,
T'is indeed a turkey vulture. Highly efficient scavengers they are. I watched in total fascination one day as a turkey vulture moved in on a fully mature American Bald Eagle that was feeding on a hen mallard near a large open hole of water on an otherwise frozen lake. The open water was full of active mallards and the eagle had apparently snatched one as they do and landed on the ice with it to eat it. The vulture moved in and intimidated the eagle off o' the kill and finished eating the rest o' the mallard. The natural world is filled with wondrous goings on amongst it's inhabitants.

    Cheers,
