Aye Mates,
Captured the motion o’ this drake in flight using a shutter speed of 1/6400 of a second. I love how the air pressure is bending his wing primaries upward on the downstroke. 😊
Actual scenarios like this will let you know just how steady your retriever is or is not.
Cheers,

Thanks kindly. At a very early age I frequently sat by and watched me Irish grandfather draw in pen and pencil. He was Irish poor living in America and had no money to buy art supplies and any pipe dream of study was simply that. He would do all of his work in ball point and # 2 pencil. I assume that those hours spent with him had some unspoken transference on me young and developing brain with regards to interpretation of light, shading, perspective, line, shape, and composition. Ye may say the "art gene" was passed along if in fact those traits are transferable on such levels. I have had very little formal training in taking basic art in high school and one art history course as part of the core requirements in undergraduate school at university. I was always creative whilst growing up. Currently me artwork concentrates in painting in pastel, drawing in pencil and mixed media, and photography. In the past I did a good deal of 3 dimensional work in making waterfowl decoys but no longer carve due to dust related health issues.
Me oldest daughter Meg is a professional artist / designer and earned her BFA at Parson in NYC where she studied industrial product design. She currently works for a very well established and respected design firm in NYC. Considering that, perhaps such traits of creative and artistic nature are in fact transferred. Meg was identified as being "gifted and talented" in art at the early age of four and we enrolled her in private art instruction immediately. Her abilities to draw and work with modeling clay 3 dimmensionally throughout her primary years was quite amazing. We still have a bust she did of herself whilst looking in a mirror, now sitting bronzed on our mantle. Amazing how the young brain manifests such skills so early on.
I have surely been blessed to have developed these skills that evoke emotions for others on a number of levels. Glad ye enjoy me artwork.
Best regards,

You've done it now - that one should be the duck stamp of the year. Amazing. I've never seen a picture of the wings on the down stroke.
Both my grandmothers were very artistic. Unfortunately, my mother's mother passes when mom was still in her teens. She was a clothes designer in NY. My Dad's mother was a quilter and painter. I still have some of her work and display it proudly. She lived a far enough distance that I did not get a chance to spend time learning from her. For the longest time my greatest accomplishment was drawing a stick figure that even resembled a human. Over the years, have found that the medium of fabric is what is most enjoyable. Have made many a wall hanging and quilts. Maybe the eye for color and endless patience is what was inherited.

I always wished I had some drawing ability but my art skills are limited to photography. That is one sharp photo.
