    Earthquake

Delaware's earthquake shook us up here in Ellicott City, MD. The chair I was sitting in started to shake, as did everything in the room...real noticeable when you have things like rocks in containers to make noise.

The dogs were down on the first level, Sunnie in a dog bed and Dan on a cushy recliner. Sunnie was spooked. Dan didn't wake up.

Weird, I did not notice it. Wonder what Lark and I were up to? I think we were back from our walk, maybe it was when she was racing around maniacally post-walk.

Just don't think of those areas when thinking of earthquakes.

There is a fault line in IL, no sure where, but there have been some shakes. Another place I would not think of.

Heard from my friend in Wilmington, DE. She said she didn't even know until she heard it on the news.

Thanks for the concern! I had no clue anything happened. We had been out doing some field work with Brooks, then took both dogs for their evening walk. My phone was ringing when we got home, a good friend from Colorado called to see if we were ok. I ask him what the heck he was talking about.

From what I saw on the news it the epicenter was about 8 miles from my house out in the Delaware Bay. Kinda sorry I missed it!

That's pretty darn close. If your basement foundation walls start letting water in I guess you'll have an idea why.
