Think they recognized they did an oops and trying to cover their butt.
FedEx called me yesterday and left a message. They wanted to know if I had received my package. I left a message. I had not.
I did verify the phone number so I know it is FedEx. The package is a 4' x 250' roll of "uncontaminated" pressed paper used for weed suppression. That's big and it has to be heavy.
I'm suffering from a failure of imagination. How did they know there was a problem? I didn't even realize it was on its way.

It was something you ordered? I think there are a lot of fishing scams out there. I got a call from Petco about my auto-delivery, which I don't have (tried it once and decided to stick with Chewy). My father in law gets calls at our house (he used to live with us) from Discover though he doesn't have a card and if he did apply, they should have his new phone.

Mystery solved. I e-mailed the company who pursued it with FedEx. The short version is that they have a big box that no longer had a shipping label and didn't know who it belonged to so they just started calling people whose packages were in transit and they didn't have a record of delivery for.In all fairness, at least they tried. Hope it's mine! For all I know they have a room full of this stuff and they're just guessing by weight.
