    What are sweet breads?

I was asked today to provide sweet breads for the shelter's Christmas dinner. I just stared. Then she said, "You know, like pumpkin bread.

Well, OK then. Naturally, however, when I google sweet breads I get organ meat. Any ideas for actual sweet breads for the holidays? I was thinking I could bake them.

She must mean pastries, loaves, and muffins rather than thymus or pancreas of a calf LOL

Yeah, that caught me off guard also!

Here's a gingerbread recipe I've tried that I found pretty tasty:

    Made this at Thanksgiving:

I haven't tried this one but I always associate snickerdoodles with the holidays:

I guess those are my best offerings for holiday type breads but I'm sure there are other recipes for gingerbread or cranberry bread or any type of streusel poundcake that anyone should be thrilled to receive.

I recently bought a Christmas Stollen cake/bread when grocery shopping. It was yeasty like bread, very dense and moist, had nuts in it and dried fruits in it that seemed as if they had been soaked in liquor. And it was sweet. We loved it. I looked up recipes on-line and never saved any. But if you wanted to look some up, yummm, it was good. It sure looked like the one at the link.

I don't think I've ever heard holiday baked goods referred to as sweet breads. And I was pretty sure...puzzled over your subject line at first....that you knew what sweetbreads were.
