Surprise you going on a cruise

Less than 24 hours ago I was called and told go shopping for clothes we leaving on the 30th for a 7 night cruise. So most of you would think that is awesome right? Ill say sorry in advance if there is too much info.

I suffer from extreme anxiety. I have been my eyes out. Trying to figure out if I can even achieve going. My biggest worry is I don't have enough time to register Molly on the ship. I don't have a pet sitter that I have used before. And I have extreme anxiety about going away from home. I have been interviewing sitters and all that does is create more anxiety

Im not sure I can get away from this anxiety and go.

What a dilemna. That's terribly short notice. Did you win a contest? is there a cancellation insurance package if you can't make it?

Does the person surprising you with this (or any surprises, for that matter) know that you suffer from anxiety? Sorry, but I think this is a thoughtless gift.

If you don't want to go, or feel that you can go, turn it down. That's probably easier said than done, but....

Well I have family coming in from South Africa that I would love to spend time with. My brother and his wife had planned this cruise with them almost a year ago. Then my mom decided 2 days ago that she wants to go. Then she called to say she has a balcony cabin and I should come with and go shopping. I am going to see my therapist today. But as I have been in tears all morning from all the anxiety this is creating. I think the answer is going to be no. I have found 2 house sitters one refferred by a friend that can do the job. But I rely on Molly she is my service dog for my mobility more than anything and my family is in a lot of denial about my physical function. I would def need a wheelchair if I go.

Snowshoe my name has not been added to the room yet the ship wants an answer by Monday.

I'm sorry this is causing more stress than joy. I hope you and your therapist can talk through a resolution you're comfortable with. I'm glad you were able to find someone who could stay with your beasts if you decide to go.

Sometimes people mean well, but do more harm than good. Is there anyone else they could think of to go in your place if you just can't find a resolution with your therapist that would help you feel comfortable enough to go? Sometimes it's good to step outside our box a little bit, but you know what makes you feel most comfortable & you have to do what's best for you, so if you decide not to go, don't feel bad about it--you are just taking care of YOU.

I have some anxiety issues also, & I've been curious about taking a cruise, maybe, someday, but on the other hand, I'm not sure I'd like it--especially if it was kind of a forced upon me type of spur of the moment thing.....good luck & let us know what you decide.....

Try to call and get Molly registered to go on the cruise. Does she know how to potty on pee pads for this type of thing?

I know your mom has the best intentions, but if it stresses you out too much, consider not going, but give it a try to get Molly on board. You may enjoy yourself more than you think if you have her along too.

The dog/ House sitter I met with today made me feel a lot better. She was the one who was ref to me by a friend She agreed that if I can't get Molly on the ship that she will keep her with her and come walk and feet my other two babies bring in the mail and hang around. so that there will be a presence in the house. This helped with my anxiety towards the fur kids. I only met with her an hour ago. She also wants to come by 2-3 times before I leave so that the kids can get to know her before i go.
