I have no advice, just dropping by to say that is my worst nightmare, and I would've sold my car by now. Wishing you luck.

Do you think it's still there? Didn't escape at night?

I'd go w/ a crate full of mice or gophers..... set inside another animal trap that would hopefully contain the snake when it crossed the threshold!!! Ackkkkk!!!!!
Reminds me of a friend who heard this noise inside her truck one day. Somehow a bullsnake (I presume) got up into the panels in the roof and all she saw was the tail!
I have to worry about rattlers here, so this kind of gave me the heebie-jeebies since I just had to shoot one a few weeks ago that bit one of my puppies (he's fine now, just sports a scar on his nose and one where the IV catheter was).

Glad to her you were able to shoot the rattler. Truly glad pup is ok and with minimal scars. Definitely gives me heebie-jeebies. Thankfully only have gardners in our area.

Hope you got the snake out of the SUV. Definitely not a passenger I'd want in my car.

Some of these responses made me laugh out loud! I might be tempted to leave the keys in the ignition in a really sketchy area! (Just kidding!) Seriously though, snakes give me the heebie-jeebies, there is no way you would get me in that vehicle until I had proof it had found a new home.

That is awful, I am so glad your baby is ok! That must have been so scary.

It was. It's not something I ever want to go thru again w/ a puppy (he was only 10.5 wks old) esp. I've had 2 adults be bit on their paws, but this was on the muzzle and a baby... definitely a terrifying experience.

We think the snake is out as we haven't seen anymore chalky white substance under the truck and we drove it all weekend. No snakes coming through the vents. We also have mothball cakes in the spare tire to deter any future hitchhikers.
