Oh, nice...thank you. That page isn't the one that came up for me...the one I saw only referenced "compatible devices" and said nothing about computers being on the list.

Who i used before photobucket. They are free, not as much storage as photobucket but works.
Amazon did the same thing a couple of years ago. They offered free cloud service and then turned around and changed it to only for Prime members but still let you download whatever you had uploaded.
Putting your images on just an external drive is risky as it is eventually going to fail.
I do have an external drive as well but use the Google Cloud as a back up. If they charge money in the future so be it as least there is a copy there.
I was also using Dropbox which offers a decent amount of free space.
