Aye Mates,
I have been watching a group o' jays making up for lost time after the storm in trying to stoke up their energy supply to maintain their metabolism. A tough fight for certain in this brutal cold. Competition for food is fierce and lots o' squabbling between birds. I caught this Blue Jay sitting on snow. I hope ye all weathered the storm without incident.
Cheers,

I had a doctor appointment in Chestertown, MD this morning and saw two crows hunkered down on the ground in the snow. I also saw massive flocks of Canadian and Snow Geese in the fields. The Chester River was frozen over, so I'm sure there are a lot of birds really suffering at the moment.
