I see herons in my field and the neighbor's every day it seems. I think they've been having a good time hunting mice!
Heard a huge gaggle of geese land in the other neighbor's field late yesterday. My dogs went nuts.

      Great picture!

We have geese here year round. South of us there are many corporate "parks", many with ponds with bubblers or fountains. Lots of runoff type ponds around here too and some have open water even with this horrid cold.

The moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life -- the sick, the needy and the handicapped. -Hubert Horatio Humphrey, US Vice President (1911-1978)
