Bought my first car in 15 years.....

When I was younger I bought a Ford Mustang for some reason that was not a wise choice for a person living in a winter climate. Rear wheel drive. I couldn't use it in the winter. Even though it's 17 years old it still runs and served its purpose but if my wife was out in the main vehicle I would trapped with no ride.

I started putting money quite awhile ago for little used vehicle. I found a 2011 Chrysler 200 Touring. 50,000 kms. Clean as a whistle inside and out with heated seats, sun roof, remote start, a decent enough stereo for a 2011. In the glove box is a maintenance log the previous owners kept and it was well looked after.

I have actually gone our for a couple of drives. Something I haven't done in awhile.

I am not a car person but I did find the hate car people have for car companies pretty funny. One board they hate Chrysler another they hate Fords. They are all the same buckets of rust that will eventually let you down. They are cars.

    Thanks Everyone!!

I've heard good things about the 200 on my Cherokee Forum. Yup, I'm on a car forum

My neighbour finally replaced her 16 year old, sole owner, Subaru Forester late last Fall. She has a long drive to work and was hoping to get 600,000 km on it; apparently there is some kind of high mileage club. The darn thing is probably now worth about twice what she paid for it in the first place, considering the repair work she had to put into it. We are all so relieved WE don't have to worry about the blasted Forester breaking down and leaving her to freeze in a snow bank in the winter now.

There are two makes a regular and The Touring which has a better engine apparently. They did have stalling problems that was fixed with a software update. I checked the VIN at Chryslers website and it was fixed way back when it came out.

Other than that I am enjoying it so far.
    Thanks Everyone!!

That's a nice looking ride. A low miler for that year.

The Mazda B2500 I bought new in Texas in 2000 chugs along. It's got about 220,000 klicks, original clutch and tranny. I've got every service record. It will take something like needing a head gasket or transmission to give it up. We bought an '09 Mazda3 hatchback as it came out of the 3 year warranty. It's got 266,000 klicks and runs like a champ. Our next vehicle might be a minivan, we have an idea of converting one into a road trip camper-type vehicle.

    Nice car.

We just traded our little ford focus hatchback in for another focus sedan. it was getting hard for SO to get in and out the sedan is much nicer for that reason.
