Oh no! So sorry this happened. Aching knees are one thing but can only imagine the discomfort you are in. Sending prayers that a good resolution can be found.

Well it seems we going to try see if the ligament will heal on its own. Lots of laser therapy and around 12 weeks of rest and PT. If that does not work then we will have to consider surgical repair.

Thanks for the update. I was thinking about you today, went to my pain management doc, my backs been horrible so another round of lumbar injections. I can empathize with you, pain is no fun.

jollymolly & barry581, I hope you both are feeling much better very soon! I'm sure chronic pain must be very wearing......

Sorry to hear this and hope you can get relief and get it fixed soon.
I know your pain -- I've had total knee replacements in both knees with many occasions of pain both knees both before and after.
Jollymolly (02-12-2018)
If the ligament is slightly stretched or even partially torn, it can heal with the body's scar tissue and lots of PT. Fully torn would require surgery so I'm guessing the Ortho took appropriate tests (MRI) to determine its status. The replacement knee should have taken care of any arthritis (unless it did not get installed correctly or came loose), so it's likely the soft tissue issue you're dealing with.
Best of luck.
