    Week 1 weigh in

I am 13 lbs down. I can see a vast difference in my hands. My pain levels have not gone down. Here goes week 2.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

    That's a great (!!!) start.

The lessening of pain will take time....more time w/out grains/sugar and less "you" to aggravate things. (you know what I mean) Your body might be different, but mine takes forever to react to change...I also have a delayed response to injury, though, so I can keep going and do more harm before I realize there's a problem.

SunDance I know exactly what you mean. I also have a delayed response to a lot of things.

That is great! Good job! It certainly can't hurt anything to have less weight on one's joints, muscles, etc. This is something I really need to work on myself!

I need to do this, too! I've done it before (Paleo diet; close!) and lost 20 lbs. One bit of advice I have, if I may, is to reward yourself with a little treat once in awhile. You have a better chance of sticking it out if you don't completely deny yourself. Great job!

I don't know much about the keto diet but if you're off sugar, that takes a while. I went off refined sugar for a year and it took my body a couple of months to adjust. I've since started eating sugar in a limited way again but I've felt better ever since.

Best of luck. Keep us posted.

Way to go! For the pain, are you able to eat natural anti-inflammatory foods? Blueberries, salmon, red pepper, broccoli.....Those would fit your diet I think? Blueberries may be too high depending on what your limit is. Tumeric... You could do golden paste if your meds allow?

    Keep at it!!

Samsonsmom. I am doing all the anti inflammatory foods as I am allowed in moderation. I decided to go gluten free, dairy free with extremely low carbs. No sugar or very Low
    sugar

Way back, long ago, had surgery and the surgeon was a health nut. He put me on no refined flours, no refined sugars. Was difficult at first and it did take time to get used to and see and feel the body changes. Have somewhat stayed on that way of eating (I don't call it a diet). I don't miss the sugar at all.
