Week 2 Keto diet Not feeling well

I have felt awful except for two days of being on this diet.I got my energy back for two days now I feel terrible again. Not sure how long I can keep doing this. I did not lose any weight this week I actually gained some I think that is normal after so much water weight was lost in the first week.

    Feeling very discouraged

Don't know anything about that diet. Hope you perk up soon.

I've tried what I called a modified Atkins diet in the past (my main protein was soy, not meat) and found that any time I restricted carbs too much, I felt awful. Maybe you can up your carbs a bit and see if that helps.

It may take time for your bodily functions to adjust to the new intake, plus you are getting rid of some toxins and that may be causing some of your digestive issues to change-all causing the change in energy. Sending MOJO your way that you can get back your energy and feel good soon.

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I haven’t tried the diet but when I googled “feeling sick on ketogenic diet” there were many articles confirming it’s a pretty common thing. I didn’t look long enough to find any articles that I’d consider authoritative, but there are plenty if you want to look. I’m sure everyone has personal idiosyncrasies so you’d have to figure out if what they recommend makes sense for you. I hope you rally soon and still achieve your goals.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

You also may have food intolerance from a specific food that you used to only eat on occasion but are now eating in larger quantities. Happened to me when I switched to more veggies. Bell peppers are something I can have in moderation. SO like a few pieces in a Chinese dish, or maybe something else like on Kabobs. I eat them one meal maybe once or twice a week. No big deal, I might be a little gassy, tummy might not feel quite 100% for a couple hours. But say I switch to vegetarian and have large amounts, maybe one or two peepers once a day for 2-3 days then all kinds of bad things happen. Took me a while to figure this one out. I am the same with beets. Beet Salad, once a month, no big deal, maybe a cooked beet somewhere once a month again no problem. Eat 2 beets 2 days in a row, I am running to the toilet by the end of the second day quite frequently. There are just some foods my body can only consume in moderation. The bell peppers are funny cause I can down a dozen jalapenos every day for a week and have no ill affects, they are in the same pepper family but bell peppers are more of a problem.

Also you food and digestion change over the years. For example I always loved banana's but as a kid and even young adult, early 20's could never eat them, they would give me a stomach ache terrible for hours. Now I eat them every single day. Sometimes in my late 20's early 30s that changed. This can go the opposite direction as well. So there may be a food you used to eat no problem, but now causes you problems.

Jeff I have a problem with nightshades as well but only some of them too. I wonder if it might be the avocados I been eating a lot more of those. Or maybe the coconut Ill eliminate one and see and then the other.

As much as I love avocados, my body has developed a strong aversion to them. I get SO sick after eating any form of that green goodness. It's the strangest thing, and I actually Googled "avocado allergy" - it seems that they can affect some people in a not so nice way. It's certainly worth a try to eliminate them. On the other hand, it could just be your body adjusting. I hope you figure it out!

I would look at the Avocado before the Coconut oil. I find coconut oil to be a relatively safe thing and Coconut is used in so many forms in so many things chances are you should have noticed something before. Not saying it can't be it but I would be surprised. Usually a Coconut oil allergy is like any kind of nut allergy, bee sting, etc. Its going to be instant and your going to swell up.

Ugh, I fell flat on my attempt at my reboot a few weeks ago. You should be proud that you started and are sticking to something. Like someone else mentioned, you may just need to tweak a few things. I'm going to try once again starting on Saturday. We shall see how my 2nd attempt goes. Keep at it..... Hope you feel better after some fine tuning.
