    Plant Selection Question

Tilling up the old garden and returning it to grass except for a 2 foot edge on 3 sides. Have tons of hostas to use, some peonies and iris. One side is quite shady but also stays damp. Will the hostas do OK with a damp area?

My neighbor's hostas do well under similar conditions.

Damp is fine...wet isn't. Your borders will be a lovely mix. (I'm always envious when I see how happy your peonies are. I try to not let mine know that I love yours more.)

I wouldn't put the iris or peonies in damp, though...

Thanks! Have tons of hostas to relocate.

Sundance: The peonies are well up so it won't be too long. I'll be sure to get some pictures.

No matter how hard I try, peonies pop up all over my gardens. It only takes the smallest of piece of root to get one started. All those extra buddies are now going to go in their new spot. Same with the iris. After moving so many from the back to the front yards, lots of left overs. Shared some with the neighbor not knowing what their colors were. We made an agreement, if he got all of one color or one I don't have, we'll do some swapping.
