      Bought a dash cam

You may remember this post a few weeks ago and that there was a discussion about dash cams. I bought one, the Street Guardian SGGCX2, and installed it just before a trip to the States. I went with the 64GB MicroSD card, which will store about 7.5 hours of video before it begins over-writing the oldest segments. Each segment is about 3 minutes long.

It was fairly easy to mount and very easy to set up. I couldn't upload a video to my Shutterfly account even though the *.mov format is supported. Here's a screen cap of while I waited to clear Canadian customs. As you see the licence on the car in front is clearly readable. I had the audio on and my audiobook was clearly understandable as was my, ahem, occasionally colourful commentary on other drivers. It has a GPS which I think shows on the screen if you want.

It's not cheap but the performance and service reviews were excellent and mine arrived less than a week after ordering it. I ordered it directly from streetguardian.ca which was preferable to Amazon.

Nice. Look forward to see some driving videos. You can always try uploading to youtube. It's pretty easy to use.
      Thanks Everyone!!

My wife and I have been talking about getting one for her car, as she commutes 100 miles round trip to work. She has a story of some asshat almost every day.

Berna, that is a very high quality video! A question about the content. At about 3:15 there is an 'H' sign. Does that indicate a hospital?

Yep, that's a hospital sign. My windshield is a bit dirty and that is the reason the lights are blurry like that. You can see my other videos (some are in daylight) on the same playlist. I am honestly pretty happy with this dashcam, it can film at 30 and 60 fps.

Remove the "s" in the http link and embedding will work.

It's nice, a good quality video! I am surprised trees there aren't in full leaf yet and the filming date is May 11th!
