you just reminded me....
Bob loves that little chainsaw. He gave it a good workout taking down a huge crepe myrtle. I think he had to get out his larger electric chainsaw, too, but most of the job went to the little one.
How much can I do with my hedge trimmer? I have some bramble brush and sticker bushes that need to go away. Too heavy for the weed whacker but not heavy enough for the chainsaw. Any thoughts? Drawbacks. Will I ruin my new toy?

Isn't that the best thing ever? I'm so glad he likes it. We have spent so much money hiring out clearing jobs in the last ten years. Every time I hit a sapling, I had to get someone else to do it. Now I just do it myself (bought a hard hat).
The hedge trimmer uses the same battery. I was paging through that company's products and found a battery powered wheelbarrow. Talk about a product you never knew you wanted. But really really do.
The hedge is my neighbor’s but I need to trim on my side of the fence. It has weed tree branches that are about 3/4 inch thick embedded within the hedge and my hedge trimmer is no worse for wear dealing with that.
I have also used it on some prickly weeds on stalks and to clear out vine weeds. The vines sometimes tangle in the blade and can jam the hedge trimmer which I don’t think would be good for it. Now I know what to look for and can use it on the vines without them tangling in the blade.

Oh, man, we could have used one (two) of those back when we were doing major mulch and stone moving. I think you deserve one with all the stuff you do.

Gah. I just did the whole front and side of my house yesterday. Then cleaned it up and hauled all the trimmings to the street. Took me almost four hours. Exhausting.
Cordless is definitely the way to go with a hedge trimmer. Don't ask me how I know that.

Depends what you want to do. If you don;t really care about the plants, use the hedge trimmers they are quite good at this. However, if your trimming shubs and so on. Do these by hand.
A great video from this old house, with examples
