One last visit from The Heat Wave. High was 36, humidex 43. Tomorrow may also be hot and humid with, finally, a chance of thunderstorms. Then Friday much cooler and drier with a blessed north breeze.

Sometimes I stop on the way to work and take a few photos to post on my blog. This one best captured this morning's feel - hot (26C or 87F at 6:30AM), humid, no wind at all.

Mr Kleb, did you have thunderstorms today? It was not too bad here, no trees down but not enough rain. It's still very humid but the heat is down to 23C. We've hit +33 several days in a row. Just ghastly out.

ETA: Spoke too soon I guess. Just checked our weather and we still have severe thunderstorm warnings and extreme heat warnings.

Thunderstorms a few klicks away. I was sure one would lambaste us but it slid by. Today has been delightful, north wind and high of about 22.

8.8 C this morning, just delicious out, this cool. But back to the 30s by Sunday. And only 6 ml of rain the other day, not enough to do any good. Harm maybe even, as too shallow watering brings roots to the surface.

GAhh, it's still on. Today's not supposed to be too bad but 30s forecast for the rest of the week. Fire ratings are going up all over, bans on any kind of fire. And watering restrictions.

It looks like tonight will be pleasant then highs in the low 30s for several days. We had a big rain June 24, otherwise showers or nothing at all since early June.

Oh, oh. Nearly overdid it this morning. Extremely humid out, 23C and feeling like 30. WE only were out 30 minutes and mostly in the shade but Oban took a long time to cool down when we got home. Even with the ice I put on his legs and body for 10 minutes, which usually helps cool him as well as take inflammation out of his sore spots. WE had light rain off and on yesterday but only got 15 mm, not enough to make difference and the extreme fire ban is still on.
