      A TenderMoment ~ A photograph.

      Aye Mates,
Having been highly involved in wildlife conservation for o'er 50 years, I recognize that the natural world can be both extremely beautiful and simultaneously cruelly indifferent. I have seen that drama play out o'er and o'er again and it both amazed me and saddened me dependent on the circumstances at hand. All that said, I have been watching several broods of osprey at different nest sites and captured this tender moment with me camera yesterday morning. I am hopeful of being able to photograph these birds as they fledge.

      Cheers,
      Irishwhistler 🍀🇮🇪🇺🇸

We have ospreys at the local lakes/parks....more during migration times but the idle few year-round. There's a flat pole-top platform on an island in our most local park but the only birds I've seen on it aren't ospreys...and no nesting material ever. I don't think it's tall enough, for starters. I love to watch them circle the lake, scouting out their meals. We'll sometimes have babies flying around or calling in the trees, so I know there's a nest fairly close.

Great catch! We see them a lot in the Outer Banks and there are a number of those platforms on the sound side that often have nests. I love to see them make an ocean catch and then fly over to their nesting area. My phone doesn't quite get that degree of detail
