Finally got it done yesterday. As far as procedures go, it was a breeze. Woke up, no pain, no irritation, not even redness of the eye. The only thing that hurt was my neck from the way the doctor had to tilt my head back. Recheck at the doctor this morning and all is going great. Eye drops started 3 days before surgery and will continue for about a month. Another check next week and then another a couple of weeks later. Yesterday right eye sight was foggy, this morning much better and even better this afternoon.
For those who hesitate, no need to. You do need help the first day cause you will feel kind of out of it and activity is restricted - no lifting anything, no bending over. One day later I can resume normal activities short of lifting heavy strenuous stuff, heavy lifting. I can also drive during daylight hours now. The world is beginning to again "look" really good.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I had juvenile cataracts at the age of 35. The technology has improved so much in the last 30 plus years. Even so... it was so amazing to have real vision. I had no idea how blind I was.
What a blessing it is to be able to look at the ridges of the Sierra mountains and be able to see individual trees. Amazing.
Very happy it went well!
