    New experiment.

I couldn't get down into the field for a long time because it was so wet. The mower and tiller kept getting stuck.

Found a bunch of seeds that I had lost a long time ago. Probably five years now. They were in an air tight container but they'll go bad (low to nonexistent germination rate) soon if they haven't already. So I tilled three strips about eighty feet long and just threw the seeds down.

It has been five days. The weather has been ideal for germination. Humid, rainy, just generally gross for humans. It will be interesting to see what comes up.

I foresee some "what the heck is this" threads. Hope they come up...you'll have interesting beds.

I wasn't as adventurous 5 / 6 years ago so I have a good idea of what everything is. Melons, squash, onions, kale, pumpkins, etc. The only pepper seeds I had were green and jalapeno. All pretty standard. I hope the tomatillos come up. I love my green salsa.

75% of the melons have come up already. I just went down to check. This could get very interesting.

What fun! You'll have a fruit and veggie salad all in one.
