    You call that a Watermelon?

I planted a Watermelon and Honey Dew with no expectations in potters this spring. I really am only going to get two of each but I learned a little. I had them in way too much direct sun and with the heat this summer even with watering the leaves would constantly burn out and I didn't have them in a spot where they could climb properly. I had numerous fruit at one time and either they were taken or just died. Next year I am going to build a proper raised spot for them and cage them in properly.

I did pull this little guy today and Georgia thought it tasted just fine. I think I could have left it a bit longer but the curly q's on the vine were all dried out and that is a tale tell to pick them.

    Thanks Everyone!!

Adds new meaning to "personal size".

Not too late to plant in the ground for a fall harvest. Six of mine have come up and are on their way.
