I tried that once with Peapod many years ago. Complete disaster. All of the glass containers were shattered and the "solution" was to give us a credit for the next order. So many stores are doing it now though so maybe it's better.
Loblaws Superstore allows you to order your groceries online for pickup. You can use an App or do it on your computer.
My wife uses her points card when shopping so when we created our account it already knew what we frequently shop for each week. It was easy to put a list together.
We created a list and finalized for pick up today between 3:00 and 5:00. They emailed us when it was ready and we went to the store where you call and tell them you are there and they bring it out and load your groceries in the car.
They charge $3 during the week and $5 on weekends which to us was worth not going into the store. I also liked being able to go through the flyer on the app and mix it up a bit with some different food ideas.
The bad, they missed my frozen shrimp pack. Since it was our first time we didn't really check the items when they were loading them up. We called customer service and they took the charge off our card. It was perfect but pretty close.

Don't you just love those Superstore points! We use our card for almost everything just use our points towards groceries. Plus, shopping once a month for most of it, we also get the freebie when spending more than $250.00!
IMO, the least they can do is give you a free shrimp pack the next time you place an order with them.
So that's why I'm getting Loblaws Superstore popups this morning. Janedoe's thread on grocery shopping is right above this one, now.

I haven't tried online ordering yet although I'd love for my mother to do that and get it delivered. Do they do pretty well with selecting produce or do you get the ones that look like today was the last day they'd be displayed?
We don't have the credit card but collect points. We collect enough points throughout the year to pay for a good piece of Christmas groceries.
This was our first experience and the produce was good. A co-worker is trying it as well and we are both of the opinion that if they give you crappy produce it wouldn't do much good in bringing back repeat customers. On the same note you won't get to pick through items like milk for instance and choose the farthest date possible.
We will try it a few times more and see how it goes.
I haven't tried as I'm picky about produce and meat, however everyone who has tried delivery the delivery service has been very pleased with what has been picked out for them so I'm being tempted, however the store I would use charges $99/year for the privledge (but are free delivery if you but over $35 and they are a department store too).
We are getting the Kroger version of this service at the store I work at soon. I have spoken with customers that have used it and they say it is really great, especially for mothers with young children. Personally, I don't have a use for it, I'm there all of the time anyway..
I had a horrible experience with Sam's three vacations ago. My sister and family carry the very large cooler for the meats and dairy. OBX is great and we do spend local, but it can be quite expensive. So I get bulk at Sam's. They stop outside Raleigh for the night near a Sam's. I ordered 600.00 worth of meat and dairy. When my sister showed up, they went back to the cooler to inspect. They had packed all of the meat on a flat cart without bagging each package individually. Blood had dripped from packages all over the other items. It was truly disgusting. They store manager was very kind and was horrified as well. We ended up with about 150.00 worth of free meat. We gave them another try next trip (6 months later) and when I called after I placed the order, the gal that answered the phone remembered who we were...she said "oh, you are the beach family."..
About 10 years ago I was trying to think of a small business I could start. My idea was a grocery delivery service. How I wish now I would have started that business.
I have considered doing this but I don't mind going shopping I like to pick my produce mainly. But I think its a great idea and should give it a try sometime
