Glad you had no damage, and some needed rain. Assuming you need rain, I guess, because we do. I bet some roadside edges are washed out.
Tuesday night, I was just fading into sleep when our phones went BLLLRRRRRPPPPPP! to alert a tornado warning for our municipality. I got up and looked at the radar. Long story short we were fine, heavy rain (18mm or 2/3 inch) for a time and nothing more.
Got to work the next day, my workplace is about 23 klicks (15 miles) as the crow flies away and learned a co-worker had been there all night. Understand that a 25mm (1 inch) per hour rainfall is pretty heavy. In one hour, 65mm (2.6 inches) had fallen! Any stormwater management system would have had trouble keeping up with that volume of water. The co-worker had sandbagged critical areas though some water still entered the administration building. No permanent damage done, I spent more than half the day shop vacing and mopping yet no serious damage done. At that time (Wednesday morning) we expected pretty important VIPs to visit Thursday, fortunately we learned that had been deferred (for other reasons) to October.

I'm glad there was no significant damage, either at home or at work. Even a half day of shop vacuuming and mopping must have left you a little sore! We have had a lot of rain recently as well. Our back yard is looking a bit swampy and Lark is happy to dash back and forth through the worst of it. Plus, I learned a new weather term- areal flooding. https://www.weather.gov/BMX/outreach_flw
Very glad there was no major damage

Snowshoe, that 65mm brought us a little over our monthly average. Not the best way to catch up on the monthly deficit!
smartrock, the work site was originally developed in the 60s and has been added on to since. It is a little low-lying and a thin layer of soil covers a deep clay base. So it’s prone to ponding. It’s fortunate that rainfall rate didn’t last longer!
Jollymolly, thanks. It’s a little concerning that our house is stick built on pier and beam so we don’t have a great place to hide if there is a tornado. We do have a plan which is better than no plan

Oh, I missed that part. The 65, I only read the 25. Yes, that's a lot at once, too much, too hard.

WE got 50 mm (2 inches) overnight. Needed it. Nice and gentle so don't think there is damage

That's a lot of water at one time and with the clay soil, the perfect "storm". We've had 3 days of rain here, some extreme downpours, luckily interspersed with hours of drizzle. So much for gardening.

Here at home, 24mm yesterday and 9 more overnight. At work, 18mm overnight. At work, 130mm (5.2 inches) since last Tuesday. September is our highest rainfall month - 94mm.
Fran you must have posted just before I did. Yep, so much for gardening, though Faye was able to mow. Thank you sweetie.
