    Made a potholder!

Not too shabby if I do say so. I didn't put the fabric together in the right order but I have a knack for straight stitches so I'm good to go. Signing up for the intermediate class.

That has interesting lines to it, curved on a square. Nice.

That was very educational. It was a "getting to know your sewing machine" moment. Good project.

You did a wonderful job. I learned to sew and cook through 4-H Homemaking clubs and four years of home ec in high school. My mom also cooked and sewed a lot of our clothes. Remember Saturday mornings spent “baking” with her. Think I largely got to clean the beaters and bowls.

Great potholder! If you can do straight seams, you can make all kinds of stuff!

Go for it! Mine was $90. Our instructor swears by the basic Brother machines (14 stitches). The only thing I had to buy for it was a walking foot for quilting and thicker fabrics and some extra bobbins but I didn't have the walking foot for the potholder.

That's beautiful! More like "art" than a potholder!

Very nice work! That's not as easy at it looks with the curve. I'm trying to master a satin stitch on curves with my machine. Takes a lot of practice.
