Trip to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park

My wife and I went to Colorado to attend my Son in Laws retirement ceremony from the USAF. Today is our last full day in Colorado and we took a quick trip to Estes Park and RMNP. Snow had closed to main roads across the park, so we didn't get to see much, but with yesterday's snowfall the scenery was pretty spectacular.

    Snow on the mountains

While I was taking the pics above, my wife and friend saw these Elk on the edge of town.

A big bull elk. This guy had a harem of 16 cows.

Another small herd was nearby. Several bulls in this herd.

A magpie sitting on a road marker.

Thank you for sharing...great pictures. I don't want to be seeing any snow up close any time soon, though.

It's always pretty up there. Sometimes those elk just hang in the middle of town. It's so cool!

Beautiful shots. It must be a relaxing area to see. Wildlife and those mountains, love it.
