We drove down to the Kawarthas this past Sunday for a hike. This is our second hike and we are hooked. I have been using the GoPro to document our travels. I have never seen Georgia so happy than she has been trucking through the forest. She did not stop for two seconds and was wagging her tail and smiling the entire way.
This property was an old ski hill in the '70's that was left to the Conservation Authority for the use of bike trails and hiking trails. It has a number of trails that are rated from easy to hard. There are a number of inclines and it was a little challenge for us just starting out but the view at the top was pretty good this time of year. A few bikers were on the trail so we had to be mindful of our surroundings.
The video footage. I had to add some royalty free music as it was nothing but the dog and I breathing heavy. I spliced together a few of the highlights.
I used a GoPro Quick Clip which attached it to my backpack. I was pleased on how stable the video turned out.
It's really viewed best at 1080P, My browser keeps defaulting to 480 for some reason and the video is choppy.
The Hill, it doesn't look big from the photo but it's a nice little climb.
Resting at the top. I assume the block is from one of the old chair lifts or tbars.
The View
I used the GoPro Software to take screen grabs. We didn't even notice this tree as we were passing through.

Looks like a beautiful walk!!
Looks like a wonderful fall hike. That tree looks like it would be a great Halloween tree.
Nice. It's nice to have hills and lookouts on a walk. I notice how polite Georgia was to wait while the feeble humans negotiated the corduroy section. Hmmm, I don't know that place. Years ago I worked with CA and ski hills and don't remember this one, will have to look it up.

Looks like a great place to hike! Strenuous but not too strenuous. And that tree does look like Halloween!
Looks like a nice place for a hike, and with all the lovely fall colors. Great video!

Thanks everyone.
It went by the name Old Orchard and Cedar Mountain. I was reading up on it and the property has quite the history. Harold Town as famous Canadian painter left the property to be used as it is today.
The part where she turned around to say, get up those stairs was pretty funny.
Looks like a great hiking spot. Thanks for sharing the great pictures.

Wow Beautiful
Thanks for sharing your adventures Woody, they are always so nice to look at. That hill looks steep enough to get anyone huffing hard.
