I love the smell and feel of a real book in my hands. I read every night before going to sleep. Know when to put it down when it slaps me in the face because I dozed off.

You and me both. I tried anti-glare glasses in case that was the problem...it wasn't. Plus, there's just something about the feel of a book that makes me feel...I don't know....happy.

I don't see how my husband can spend so much time with a little screen in front of his face.

Yes...nose on paper just feels right. (you can get the neck pain with both, I suppose)

Score for me today. I missed the free library stand yesterday but hit the Dutch Thrift store today, where used books were half price. So I got 10 books for $5.26. Three are doggy books. The Hidden Life of Humans by Erika Ritter, Finding Gobi by Dion Leonard and The Twelve Dogs of Christmas by David Rosenfelt. I don't think the last two have ever been read, not a mark on them.

So far I have read three of the Inspector Gamache books and enjoyed all of them.

Snowshoe, is it called the Little Free Library? There's a program by that name.

As much as I prefer a physical book, a Kindle or tablet are used most of the time since most of my recent reading is done on the go (commuting or traveling).

We we have the Littke Free Libraries springing up around me. I haven't checked any out yet.

SunDance, that's what the one I went to looked like, sort of. I wish the people building them would do a better job. That post holding it up, and with books in the box part is HEAVY, had rotted out and the whole thing fallen over. Or had been laid down on the ground, more likely, since it wasn't smashed. ONe post in the middle is not stable either, if all the heavy books end up on one side. It was so heavy I had to nab a man walking by (he had a dog ) to help me move it so I could open the door. If that was to fall over it could seriously injure someone, maybe kill a child.
