    Day's End Roosters

    Aye Mates,

A little less shoe leather on the boots, guns put away, some tired dogs fed and watered asleep by the fire, t'is time to recount the day's hunt with good gunning Mates. More fine memories made and old one's shared whilst sipping some fine Irish spirits. Life is grand.

    Gorgeous birds!

Always wondered, what do hunters do with those beautiful feathers?

Some like me use them for fly tying. Some birds get mounted. When birds are processed for food, the waste products are often left to be scavenged by wildlife. There is very little that does not get used.

I'd love to get some big, long cock tail feathers. They are great cat toys, strong and flexible, way better than the goose and turkey feathers I find.

I, too, would love some feathers, the short ones. I'd love to make some holiday ornaments covered in them. I've seen some and they are amazing.
