    Afternoon Whitetails

    Aye Mates,
I caught these whitetails out grazing along the edge habitat in yesterday's late afternoon light.

    Cheers,

I love seeing the deer...rutting season has pretty much guaranteed that I'll see only one buck at a time instead of the four or five that pal around together at other times. We have some spectacular racks around here...as well as the wannabe spikes. Gotta be careful around the bucks this time of year. I hate it when I see the does and it isn't until I'm between the buck and the doe that I notice the buck on the other side of the path. I'd hate to be seen as a competitor (or a love interest) by the buck.

We are in an area where seeing a deer would definitely not be expected. However, there is an area just a block away, several blocks long and wide that the school owns; the kids call it biology woods. From there wander out, late at night, deer and fox. Was shocked as heck seeing them.
