I Agree with JenC, Pot roast and beef stew is wonderful. Chicken soup, huge servings of rice or pasta, I've made Chowder, steamed veggies, it's really fast. Just let the steam off slowly, you can't just open it when the timer goes off.

I know this is an old thread but I bought myself a Presto last summer. Just read the manual and follow it and you'll be good. What's really scary is not the pressure cooker but all the foods we now should use it for. We now know botulism can live a long time in improperly preserved foods. Baba and Mum didn't have a PC, guess we were all lucky.

My brother made a very nice pulled pork with theirs. I keep thinking I’d like to get an Instapot, but haven’t talked Andrew into it yet.
We have a pressure canner that mainly gets used for canning chicken, or turkey stock.

I just bought an instapot yesterday so this is a very timely thread for me to read. I'm excited about being able to sautee/brown and go right to cooking since that is something that annoys me about my crockpot right now when I have to separately brown the meat and onions first.
