As a youth, I never wore sunscreen (thanks 1970's) and later liked tanning beds (thanks 1980's). I definitely pay the price now at the dermatologist. Glad you went in and that they can do the Moh's surgery.
Mojo for an uneventful procedure and quick healing.

I've had 6 different basil cell carcinomas removed, face, shoulder, top of my head, plus many more precancerous spots frozen. I say if you got to have cancer, this is the one to have. Hope the surgery goes well.

It turns out to be a full on surgery because the area is fairly large, complete with stitches. That one only takes a half hour though. He was not concerned at all so I'm going in at the end of January.
Thanks everyone. I hate this kind of new experience.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Yeah it's pretty much to the point now that I can tell when a spot is an issue before it gets scabby/flaky. That allows the doc to freeze them off instead of cutting. I've probably had 30 spots frozen, mostly on my face, a few on my arms. It all goes back to those days in the sun before sunscreen was a thing.
