    Is this not odd?

We live on a dead end street off of a main.

Since installing my security cam I realize that about 10 times a day people pull down our street and turn around as they have turned too early off the main to get to the next one and have to go back. They basically turn one too early and have to go back.

Last night a small suv pulled up on our street at exactly 8:12 pm and parked with the car running outside of one house beside ours.

I took Georgia for a walk at 9:30 pm and it was a "hard looking" girl smoking and on her phone. Nobody else in the car. She paid no attention to us either time when we walked by. At not time did anybody get in and out of the car.

Exactly 3 hours later to the minute 11:12 she finally left.

What would that be all about? Who sits in a running car for 3 hours chain smoking?
    Thanks Everyone!!

That does sound odd, but I'm betting many neighborhoods have some odd stuff going on if anyone is observant enough to notice. Two nights ago some guy in a pick up truck, who did not appear to be wearing a shirt or coat, drove down our street at about 10 pm with the interior cab light on in his truck. He may have been wearing even less, I just fortunately couldn't see below his arm, which was propped on the open windowsill. I was outside with Henry and it was about 27 degrees F outside. Now that security cameras are getting more popular, I suspect other people are finding things they never imagined happening outside.

Maybe the girl near your house was carefully obeying the law by not driving and talking on her phone.

Somebody who doesn't consider herself to have adequate privacy at home. Perhaps talking to someone she's having an affair with. We could probably give her a bunch of stories far more exciting than the truth.

Very odd. I tend to believe what SunDance said.

The other evening a police car stopped on the other side of the street a little down from us. Blinking blue and red lights going. It sat there for a good 2 hours. Never could figure out what was going on as he was positioned between two houses.

    I guess anything is possible.

It's odd because it's currently -18 out and not being really conspicuous with the car running and all lights on.

There are 9 Tim Horton's Donut shops within a 5 minute driving radius and countless parks and a few shopping malls and plazas.

I am not sure why you pick a small residential street where everyone including myself will be gawking at you.

It is funny as mentioned with cameras everything is scrutinized these days. For the good and the bad I suppose.
    Thanks Everyone!!

I bet Tim Horton’s frowns on chain smoking.

seriously, I’d guess she didn’t want to be seen by someone she knew. Y’all don’t count.

Hah, you should be so lucky that the proposed scenarios are the reason. A couple of our neighbours noticed cars sitting, running, not doing anything near us. ONe called Police, she had little girls who would be getting off the school bus and worried, naturally. She was told, "It's one of ours" meaning it was a cop car. A plain car. A few weeks later OPP landed on our street, five cars, a wagon, a drug dog and they arrested the kid in the house next to mine for possession of drugs, trafficking, stolen and still loaded gun. Ironically, considering this thread, it was erratic driving a couple of months before that tipped the Police off and they began to watch him. Oh, wait, so that's it, your rough looking gal is an undercover cop. Hope not.
