      Icy Pickings ~ A photograph.

      Aye Mates,

A Nuthatch picks through available feed placed atop a freshly fallen New England snow. Retriever enthusiasts from around the region will be happy to see bare ground and open waters once again.

He is a very handsome bird.

I haven't seen any at my feeders this winter but the pair of bluejays, sparrows, finches, cardinals and my favorite morning doves have all been at the feeders. A couple woodpeckers both the red headed and little downy have been at the suit feeders along with the starlings. We haven't had the snow cover this winter, if we get snow fall for a period of time usually ducks show up, but that is only if the ground has been covered for a while.
