Glad it sounds like it's healing nicely.
"Don't be a man." (snort)
Went to the second followup for my face surgery. Surgeon was thrilled. He showed me how to massage the scar and said that it would disappear if I did exactly as he said. He led with "Don't be a man. Men think that more is more so don't let your husband do it for you." My husband was sitting three feet away. I couldn't help but laugh. It was just really unexpected. I wonder what he tells men.

He's very colorful. He asked when I was seeing the nurse practitioner again and I told him that I didn't have a standing appointment. I just went in to get it frozen whenever it bled. He said, "Come in regularly. You're a felon. You'll do it again."
I agree, sounds like a good follow up visit. And as for men and more is more, I think I know someone who adheres to that theory.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I can think of some, yes men, who did more and hurt themselves. But more the other way, who did not do enough, especially where regaining mobility in a joint was required. Men and women.
Your Doctor sounds fun. I wonder if he tailors his remarks to those who have a sense of humour? Some would not like the way he spoke to you.

I'm guilty of the more being more philosophy. 10 years ago I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. Broke both collar bones, a bone in my neck, over 180 stitches and staples where my skin was ripped open on my side, and other assorted bruises, cuts and contusions. The docs all told me no work for at least 2 months. After 3 weeks I begged them to let me go back to work at least part time. Mind you I was still having to sleep sitting up because the pain from the collar bones was still excruciating and the collar had just come off my neck. The other that was treating me finally agreed, no more than 4 hours a day and he cleared me to go back to work. So I went back to work (service manager in a busy motorcycle dealership) about 6 hours a day. And didn't take any pain pills.
This is just one example of me be more tough and stupid rather than smart and listen to my doctors.

Good check up.
Have to laugh about men do more. DH had toe surgery and was told to take it easy, can't remember how long. Well, of course, he did not and the toe did not heal properly. Now he has a horrible time trying to get a proper fitting shoe.
