What is something that annoys you about your current city?

You don't have to over specific.

Me it's the current condition of roads and the way traffic lights switch.

It's pothole central and seems to be getting worse and there is no flow to traffic. Wait on a red only to get to the next red.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Because the water table is high, most power lines are above ground. That means one strong wind can knock out power for hours. Yes, that happened to me last night and yes, I’m ready to start pricing out generators.

That so many a$$hats from other states travel though here on their way to the Delaware and Maryland beaches. Way to many from PA, NJ, NY that drive like crap and clog up our roads.

In same boat. We are always having the power snap on and off and we have had a number of times over the past year or two where we end up in the dark for hours. It's always downed lines or a transformer problem. Back in the fall I think we were a good 10 hours without electricity.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Our Postmaster. She's been there forever, knows no one in this little town or at least that's the way she behaves and she specializes in causing problems for people. A couple of years ago she made a huge deal about the state of peoples' mailboxes after a massive snow storm when the plows took a ton of them out. She threatened to return everyone's mail because it couldn't be delivered and did this by putting notices in our mailboxes even if they were lying on the ground. Like that's the thing people need to be concerned about when they're digging out. Fortunately, our carriers are great so it's only a problem if the mail winds up at the post office for whatever reason.

    Where to start?

Okay, power outages due to downed lines during snow storms are an issue nearly every year. The power company claims to cut back trees during summer and fall but I think they need to be a bit more aggressive. The outages can go on long enough that I have to pack up the dogs and go to a nearby hotel because the house inside temperatures drop too low, sometimes for a few days.

Road closures for repairs that never seem to be completed.

I was driving in Brooklyn, NY this week where double parking is apparently protected by the US constitution.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

They are putting in a marijuana dispensary, in our little town of 10K. Looks like we'll be using all the back woods roads to get around.

Amazon started using their own delivery service and delivered my packages to a pile of trash, I was BS!

pfft. Hurricane Michael barreled through as a tropical storm last October and we were out for four days. Nobody was expecting it to come our way, so no one was prepared.

Our little town has been in existence for a long time surrounded by rural areas. The darn government in our town is so backwards that all the businesses have moved out, towns just a few miles away booming. While that might seem good, being in a quiet little town, it has gotten ridiculous. To get almost anything there is nothing close including a decent pet store, grocery store, on and on. A good example: when we recently had our new fence put in the post holes had to be inspected. Ok, that's normal. There are so few inspectors they sent out the plumbing inspector who misread the permit and I had to run to city hall for a clarification.

However, I do have to say that of all the towns around us, snow removal here exceeds all the others. Also, our animal control is exceptional and so is their community support.

Trash pickup. Too many rules that they are now emphasizing when they changed providers, and with snow some are unreasonable. Out between 5pm the night before and 7am the day of pickup, on the side of your drive, not in it. Off the curb by some specific time the evening after pickup, etc. The rules seem reasonable except when it is snowy and the new provider doesn't come until the evening. I don't know what time we are supposed to have our cans back in our yards but the last month or so they are coming in the evening. Now I see a lot of cans at the curb (including mine) still outside when I head to work the next morning which is a no no. Also we have the huge trash and recycling cans. Neither has drain holes and they never shut the lids after pickup. As a result I try to avoid putting either out when it is going to rain or snow so the don't collect water (my warm weather project is to drill drain holes in the bottom of the and). I also wish they offered a smaller trash can as an option since it is way too big for me.
