    Concrete question.

This just got worse and worse over the winter and now it's just a hot mess. I've worked with concrete maybe twice in my lifetime. It would be one thing if it was on a flat area to just reset the stone but this is more complicated.

My question is, do I just shove all the pieces back in there and put concrete in the spaces or pull all of that material out and reshape that entire corner then reset the stone? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It would be best to clean it all out a redo it. Much more work but would be better in the long run.

I was afraid you'd say that. We had a professional patch it a few years ago and now we have this.

Yeah, my mother's front walk is large colored stones like that and they've had repairs done over the years that never hold up as long as one might like. It's a mess right now. Winter seems to do that to her walk, too. The single stone patches hold up the least well.

I want so much to have the entire thing jackhammered up and replaced with something more basic but there's a drainage system in there and part of it's covered and then I think, just keep patching it up and pretend it's not there. That's what age does to you.
