I've never been to Canada but we're going/coming to Montreal next month. The Crush cream soda and the poutine are calling my name more than any chocolate on your list.
We were in Montreal last March for a hockey game and had a great time. We stayed by the Bell Centre. We found the food and drink to pretty affordable compared to a few cities we have visited. Reuben's Deli & Steakhouse was memorable.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Apropos of nothing (but a bit humorous, at least to me)…

When Bob and I were just dating, we went on a ski trip to Smuggler's Notch in Vermont and took a trip over to Montreal for dinner one night. We ate at a lovely little restaurant called Au Cepage (seems to be closed now...this was about 37 years ago). At one point, we asked the waiter for more water....I used my best school-taught French (he didn't speak English), complete with gestures to our glasses.

He nodded and took the vase of flowers off the table...and never returned with more water. (I'd gotten A's in French.)

    My Canada memory.

I'm hoping I won't need to use much French! The only French I remember from high school was a phrase that would translate as, Who is that lady by the door? She is very pretty. I don't think that will help me in any circumstance.

I am now craving a Wonderbar and bag of Hickory Sticks. I can't imagine how many filling have been pulled out of teeth due to Mackintosh "MACK" Toffee.
    Thanks! That's perfect.

My husband remembers his first French lesson perfectly. It was a kid begging his mom to let him keep watching TV even though guests were coming over. I don't think he has a use for that one either.

Do you like the Cadbury dairymilk? Since Hershey's bought the brand a few years back, the dairymilk in the US is different and they don't allow the imported dairymilk to be sold here anymore. So if you like those, I suggest getting some in Canada since they still sell the original one.

Be careful getting the Kinder eggs. If you get caught by customs, it won't be fun. I've been able to sneak it back in, but I've read stories online about others getting caught.

Another suggestion is getting Ice Wine. Isn't made to go with a meal. More like a dessert wine. I love the stuff. It can be found at any of the LCBOs. I think they have Ice Cider in Montreal and you might be able to get that in Toronto too. They also make other ice wine things too like hard candies or jelly.

There is the maple syrup hard candy as well and the softer 'melt in your mouth' sugar ones.

And I still buy maple syrup in Canada because of the selection where you can choose between light, medium, and dark depending on what you are using it for (I think dark is used for cooking). They probably have grades here as well, but hard to find a place that sells it. I buy mine at the St Lawrence Market in the plastic jugs.

Kinder Joy has the toy on one side and the other is some creamy concoction with two crunchy balls. Kinder Surprise has a toy inside a hollow chocolate egg which is considered a chocking hazard in the US. The toys look just as small so I think it has to do with the chocolate surrounding the toy. Several years ago team members who would go to Windsor or Toronto would bring them back the real deal for everyone and we would all get a kick out of seeing what we got inside. The toys sat on my desk for several years until I started working remotely.

Sorry about suggesting Kinder Suprise, I didn't realize they were contraband. Agree Canadian Cadbury is much better.
